Pelican Poseidon Paddle Review

A basic but dependable paddle for beginner kayakers

Overview

The Pelican Poseidon paddle is a 2-piece, aluminum-shaft paddle designed for short recreational outings. While not as light or refined as performance paddles, it does a solid job for casual paddlers and comes at an unbeatable price.

Who Is This For?

The Poseidon is great for occasional paddlers or those using a beginner kayak for calm lakes and slow rivers. It’s also a smart pick as a backup paddle due to its affordability and resilience.

Our Experience

We used the Poseidon paddle on a Pelican Mustang and Tamarack Angler 100. It handled smoothly on flat water, and the shaft length felt balanced for average-size paddlers. It’s not ideal for speed or long trips, but it’s functional and durable for what it is.
